2016 4DC Creative Scholarship Awardees

The Forrester David Cravens Foundation proudly awarded its first scholarships to two outstanding Vista High School students, artists and community members. The inaugural 4DC Creative Scholarship awardees excel not only in their creative fields but also in their work within the community and their pursuit of higher education.

Sean Stover, a Junior when he applied, is involved in all things music at Vista High School – participating

in Marching Band, Jazz Band, Concert Band and Drumline. Outside of school, he volunteers at the Boy’s

and Girl’s Club teaching music to kids. While music is Sean’s passion, he was inspired by the scholarship

to explore another creative field, submitting a unique painting done on Illustrator.

Sean will be using half of his scholarship money for college and the other half for supplies to explore his

new found hobby of painting.

Amanda Spitzer, who is now attending Rice University School of Architecture, was heavily involved in the

Vista High School community while she was there. During her high school career she served as Publicity

Chair for the Associate Student Body, founded and acted as Co-President of the Environmental Club,

participated in the special education program Best Buddies, and was a member of the Panther Dancers.

Amanda is using her scholarship money to help pay for school supplies at Rice University.

We were excited by all the unique submissions we received this year and are enthusiastic about the

opportunity to continue to work with young local artists to help better themselves and their community.

We wish all the best to Sean and Amanda and look forward to see all those that will surprise us next

year!
